Zentel, Symptoms, Side Effects and In Pregnancy

Zentel is produced by GSK, which contains Albendazole. Zentel tablet is in a white pentagonal pyramid shape while Zentel suspension is in a white orange flavored bottle. It exhibits vermisidal, avacidal, and larvacidal activity. Zentel is being used for intestinal parasite treatment. 

Symptoms

Zentel is being used for the symptomatic relief and treatment for most common worms such as,

Round worm (Ascaris lumbricoides)

Pin worm (Enterobius vermicularis)

Whip worm (Trichuris trichiura)

Thread worm (strongyloides stercorralis)

Tape worm (Taenia spp and Hymenolepisnana)

Hook worm (Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale)

Chlonorchiasis (chlonorchiiasis sinensis)

Opisthorchiasis (Opisthorchis viverrini)

Cutaneous larva migrans (G.lamblia, G.duodenalis, G.intestinalis, Lamblia intestinalis) in children.

Contraindications

Do not use Zentel, if you are hypersensitive to Albendazole.

Zentel in Pregnancy

Zentel should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation.

Side Effects

The very rare adverse reaction includes erythema multiforme, rashes, etc and uncommon reaction include, headache, dizziness, etc.
