Mucaine Syrup 120ml, Indications, Uses and Side Effects

Mucaine is produced by ICI. It contains Oxethazaine with Aluminum Hydroxide & Magnesium Hydroxide. Mucaine has a unique combination of mucosal anesthetic and antacid, which gives rapid relief of gastric pain and heartburn within a few minutes. Mucaine is being used for the indication and symptomatic relief of Esophagitis, GERD, Heartburn, Acidity, Dyspepsia, Abdominal Pain, Stomach Pain, Indigestion, and Gastric and sometimes it is also being used for constipation as well.

Combinations

Oxethazaine: It is being used to treat Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). In many types of syrup, oxethazaine is being added with other antacids for the symptomatic relief of gastric pain and heartburn. Oxethazaine is being used for the symptomatic relief of esophagitis, Side effects of oxethazaine include, drowsiness, pruritus, glossitis, dizziness, etc.

Aluminum Hydroxide: It is an antacid, which is also being used to treat heartburn, acidity, indigestion, peptic ulcer, chronic diarrhea, and upset stomach. Side effects of Aluminum Hydroxide include proximal myopathy, dementia, constipation, and diarrhea.

Magnesium Oxide: It is also an antacid, which is being used to treat peptic ulcers, gastric acidity, acidity, and stomach pain. Side effects of Magnesium Oxide include ataxia, muscular weakness, and blurred vision.

Side Effects of Mucaine

Side effects of Mucaine include diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, drowsiness, and sometimes vomiting.

Causations

Do not use Mucaine if you are allergic to it. Some allergic reactions include skin rash and itching, dizziness, drowsiness, and sometimes breathing difficulties.
