Klaricid is produced by Abbott, which contains clarithromycin. It is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the hydroxyl (OH) group, which acts against mycobacterial infection. Klaricid is being used for the indication and symptomatic relief of
Upper respiratory tract infection, such as pharyngitis, sinusitis, throat pain, etc
Lower respiratory tract infection, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, etc
Skin and soft tissue infection, such as folliculitis, cellulitis, erysipelas, etc
Klaricid in Pregnancy
The safety of Klaricid use in pregnancy has not been established. Therefore, use during pregnancy is not advised. Consult with your doctor before taking clarithromycin.
Lactation
The safety of Klaricid use during breast-feeding of infants has not been established. Clarithromycin is excreted into human breast milk. Therefore consult your doctor before using this medicine during lactation.
Adverse Reaction
Some common and rare adverse reaction of clarithromycin includes abdominal pain, pseudomembranous colitis, interstitial nephritis, renal failure, diarrhea, abdominal pain, enzymes, vomiting, taste perversion, hypoglycemia, etc.
Contraindications
Patients who are hypersensitive to macrolide antibiotic drugs should not use Clarithromycin.
