Citralka was produced by Pfizer, now this syrup is being produced for ICI Pakistan, which contains a disodium hydrogen citrate. It is a palatable solution of disodium hydrogen citrate and designed to aid in maintaining the physiological alkalinity of the urine in conditions such as Pyelitis, Cystitis, and Urethritis. Simply it is being used urinary tract infection (UTI) e.g burning while peeing, urine frequency, urinary tract infection, etc.
Composition
Sodium Acid: Sodium Acid is an anticoagulant, which prevents blood from clotting. It is being used for the indication and treatment of pyelitis, urethritis, burning while peeing, acidosis, urinary retention and also being used as an alternative choice in urinary tract infection.
Side Effects of Citralka
Side effects of sodium acid contain anxiety, GI ulceration, and seizures. In overdosage of sodium acid citrate, it causes diarrhea, hypokalemia, dyspnea, and metabolic alkalosis, etc. Sodium acid is more or less tolerable but if it becomes severe it can cause mood swings, headache, tiredness, and frequent urination.
